[-ʃi; japanisch »Buddhabildner Tori«], japanischer Bildhauer chinesischer Abstammung des 7. Jahrhunderts; schuf die ältesten erhaltenen Bronzefiguren Japans in der Technik der verlorenen Form. Von ihm stammen, inschriftlich belegt, der »Yakushi« (607) und die »Shakatrias« (623, beide im Hōryūji bei Nara). Seine Figuren kennzeichnet ein archaisches Lächeln; ihre Gewänder zeigen symmetrischen Faltenwurf.
